The benefits of traditional wooden toys aren't just a nostalgic recall the days of our own childhood; there are many more advanced reasons that benefit your sons or daughters directly. This article explores so helping to explain the benefits of bringing your children up playing with traditional toys as opposed to the more favoured, modern toys.

Traditional favourites such as wooden toys help children to expand their minds and imagination, and inspire creative play in children. So often modern toys are exact types of cars, planes and also other exciting vehicles, these exact models obviously leave little on the imagination. Branded toy memorabilia often servers no purpose in play instead of allow the children to emulate their favourite TV characters and encourage play that is a blend of copying, repetition and again leaves little for the creative mind.
A toy box with a mix of traditional toys is much more likely to inspire creative play, the innovations and skills which help a child to develop and learn to enjoy playing, to relish the education and experience with using such toys. Many educational wooden toys help children to build critical lateral thinking and problem-solving skills and improve fine motor skills.
Research also signifies that the children appreciate the environment they are in more as a result; rather than using loader, noisier and noise making toys to produce an environment of action, of war, emergency and other such play scenarios, the children were found to create the climate and sound effects of their head, and keep the calm and relaxation within the room still. In other words, traditional wooden toys keep the child relaxed and quiet, while having fun and playing from the true child spirit that we all love to see.
Benefits are not only limited to the enjoyment in the toys, the health and safety benefits can't be ignored. Wooden toys are much safer than plastic toys, with fewer smaller parts, including parts are more durable, less likely to break or be chewed.
Children will invariably favour putting their favourite things inside their mouth, and traditional toys made from natural materials are less toxic compared to chemical rich painted plastics and metals that many modern toys are made of. They have no electric parts, and so are made tougher, they desire no batteries, they don't leak, they do not require electricity, and so are kinder to our planet also.
Well made traditional toys use natural woods and fliers and other modes to shape and colour the toys, with non toxic paints, and shaped wood it doesn't splinter easily, or break. High quality woods are hard to damage, but still softer contact than hard metals and difficult plastics, making for the supreme material for toys; low impact bumps and accident, but the durability to last for generations.
The lastability of traditional wooden toys is in all likelihood the biggest and often most misunderstood feature; whereas the more modern, trend related toys appear and vanish with the trends, in addition to their lifetime as toys is shorter, traditional toys could be passed down to siblings and from generation to generation.
